I have known Arden for many years. He is a polished presenter. His knowledge of photography,video and digital media editing is one of the best I have seen. He is one of the few people who is comfortable in both Macs  and Windows and has been using dual platforms for many years in his training and workflow.

Technology is changing so rapidly and I am glad Apple switched to Intel. We now have the BEST of both platforms running right in our computer.A few years ago Discovery Channel highlighted a documentary on what was the most powerful invention by man. Johannes Gutenburg and his printing press came out tops.

Happy New Year  2007 everyone. It has been a year since I started myvideopodcast.

 

If I were to choose the BEST thing to ever happen on the net in the year 2006, hands down it would definitely be the arrival of Skypecast.

It had a few limitations though when it started in early May 2006. Group text chat and the ability to share images,web URLs etc. Marian Heddesheimer whom I met at skypecast during the early days in May decided to use his PHP skills ( he is an expert at it if I may add) to create what we now know as the Lookr tool.

 

In the beginning very few people saw the potential of Skypecasts, I was blown away by it and began to review Skypecasts. The BEST events that I ever attended  were notably the interview of the UN Secretary General Candidates hosted by Sree Sreenivasan co-founder of  Saja

 

Imagine somebody from Penang Malaysia sitting in his living room, asking a UN Secretary GEN candidate, a question. Fast forward episode 262 1min 48secs to hear the clip.

There was even a Skypecast with Professor Muhammad Yunus of the Grameen Bank. Now a Nobel Peace Prize winner for 2006.

 

With the arrival of the Live tab feature in Skype version 2.5 and then 3.0, the masses began to pour in. Things got better.

 

But good is NOT enough.

In the NET, blinking is not allowed.
